First Sunday of Lent
Sunday, February 21, 2021
Reflection by: Fr. Alberto Bueno, T.O.R.

My dear Brothers and Sisters, welcome to Lent. As we began the season on Ash Wednesday, we are encouraged to open ourselves to a deeper relationship with the Lord and ourselves. In that light, I want to share with you this prayer written by Evelyn Underhill.

O Lord, penetrate those murky corners where we hide memories and tendencies on which we do not care to look, that you may purify and transmute them. The persistent buried grudge; the bitterness of that loss we have not turned into sacrifice; the private comfort we cling to; the secret fear of failure which saps our initiative and is really inverted pride. O Lord, we bring all these to you, and we review them in your steadfast light. Amen.
